FAQ

Are pets cremated individually?
Absolutely! At Sweet Memories Pet Cremations, we specialize in individual private cremation, with only your animal. Our machine is cleaned thoroughly after each cremation service.
We offer communal cremation as well, but this service is mostly reserved for our veterinarian partners.

How long does it take to get my pet back?
At Sweet Memories, we typically return your pet within 3-4 days, and more often than not, we can return them even sooner. We also offer same-day service when applicable, for an additional charge. Please note that special-ordered memorial products that require engraving and shipping may take longer for delivery. Being a local service, we strive to ensure a quicker return time compared to out-of-town services that some clinics may utilize.

What do I do if my pet passes away at home?
We answer our phone 24 hours a day. Extension 1 is our customer service, it takes you straight to one of us! Extension 3 is our voice mailbox. Leave a message if we do not answer, and we will return your call. If you are unable to call, you may submit a form here on our website. We will make arrangements to take your pet into our care.

How do I care for my pet after he or she has passed away?
Until decisions and preparations can be made, place your pet in the coldest part of your home. Put plastic down on the floor (a plastic bag or tarp will work) and then place newspaper or a blanket on top of the plastic. Place your pet on top of the blanket or paper and then cover your pet with another towel or blanket. At this time, if possible, make any necessary aftercare arrangement. Please call us anytime at 606-224-3022, Ext. 1, if you would like more information or require aftercare for your pet.

My pet passed away at the Veterinarians office. Can I select where my pet is cremated?
Yes, and we always encourage pet owners to do so. Remember, the type and quality of aftercare you choose for your pet is a personal decision that only you and your family can make. You can ask your veterinarian which cremation services they recommend. Some clinics may utilize out-of-town services, which can result in a lengthy wait for your pet to return home.
The staff at Sweet Memories will gladly pick up your pet from your veterinarian. You can call us directly to make arrangements to take your pet into our care. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions.
